As Windows XP is not officially supported by Microsoft and if Android Studio stills runs on Windows XP, Android Studio could be broken on that platform at any time.

I would seek to install a light wieght Ubuntu variant on to your computer if Windows 7 or 10 is unfeasible. However, if this computer is managed by your school's IT I would request that you seek advice and permission from them before contining with an OS install or a possible dual booting configuration.

I will also note that as Windows XP was generally distributed as a 32-bit OS you may want to check into your processor's 64-bit capabilities and a possible expansion of memory in your computer, as running Android Studio with anything less than 4 GB of memory is not pleasant.
