    We can see the phone and all of its folders in windows, but when we open android studio, it says "no device connected" any ideas????

    The phone needs to have ADB enabled and the appropriate drivers installed on the computer. MTP will not suffice for debugging or automated app installation (but you can transfer an APK over MTP as currently works and then manually install it).
