  • New phones - quad core vs octo core impact on performance

We currently have ZTE speed phones. The tensorflow technology requires us to get new RC phones. Looking at the legal phones, is there a practical advantage to getting a phone with an 8 core processor vs a 4 core processor? Some of our loop times are rather long, 50-80 mSec, and I don't know if the RC app is multi-threaded enough to take advantage of 4 additional cores. Alternatively, have those of you with a Moto G5 or Samsung S5 seen better performance than with other phones?

Both of those phones have four cores. The G5 Plus has eight, but it is not legal. The S5 and the Nexus 5 should have faster cores than the other legal phones though.

Note that the S5 and Nexus 5 phones currently do not support channel changing via the FTC apps. The Motorola phones on the approved list do. This can be a benefit if you need the flexibility to change channels at an event.
