  • How to prevent string from getting cut at attachment points?

We are facing a constant problem: The string/rope on our drawer slide mechanism (eventually) gets cut at the attachment points. We are using 1.7 mm thick braided kevlar cord rated for 400 lbs.
We have made sure that the attachment points does not have any sharp edges. Attachment points are usually screw eyes, which have round cross section, around 3 mm thick metal.

How do you guys manage this issue?

Any tips / suggestions are highly appreciated.

Some sort of spools with washers, we also add duct tape to keep the strings from falling off. If you have some pictures, maybe some more can offer suggestions.
