  • Engineering Notebook study

Our team is going to teach a session on intro to the engineering notebook at the Maryland Kickoff. We are directing the session for first and second year teams. We want to make sure the information is beneficial to our audience and practical. To do this effectively we would like to hear from other teams about what they do with their notebook. Please consider helping our team by giving us info that can be used for our session. You can either answer the following questions or fill out our short survey at:

If you need to get in contact with us you can email us at: [email protected]

    1. Is your engineering notebook digital (typed, shared, over the internet, etc.) or is it hand written (book, spiral, or bound notebook)?

    2. How do you format your notebook? (Tasks and reflections, just an entry, etc.)

    3. How often do you put pictures and diagrams in the notebook?

    4. What is your approximate ratio of diagrams to pictures? (50-50, 60-40, 40-60, etc.)

    5. How do you document outreach?

    6. How do you balance your time between your robot and your notebook?

    7. Do you have a specific person on the team that organizes the notebook?

    8. What do you think stands out the most about your notebook?

    9. If it is possible, would you be willing to send us a digital copy of a previous year’s notebook?

    10. Please let us know if you would like to receive our survey results.

Thank You So Much for Your Time!!!
