  • Sponsorships for the rookie teams

    Hi,

We are the rookie team. We are looking for funds and sponsorships. Because we are rookie teams, we are not that professional and well set-up. Is there any sponsorships that can provide small sponsorships to us? Is there any company that we can get sponsorship easily? If you are telling about the company, please do provide steps to apply for it.
    Thanks,

One way to start out is by looking into what the parents of the students do for work. If the parents are involved, and mentoring the team, some companies will "pay" their employees for the service hours they do toward the organization.

Find companies in your area that may have an interest, and talk to the manager. We have a large Metal supplier near us. We talked with the GM, and they have been sponsoring both of our teams for 4 years now we as much free metal as we needed.

For our teams, no parents are involved and I don't think we have a good company near us.

PTC provides grants of $500 and $1000 if you utilize one or more of their tools, Creo, Wind chill, and Mathcad. The application period is in September so it won't help this year. But if you start using their free tools this year then that will make it easier to demonstrate to PTC your utilization of their design tools in the robot build process. www.ptc.com/go/first. It does take some practice to use their tools. I would recommend learning and using Creo. Then in September apply for the grant.
