Phone Setup Help Needed!

-rcKeep getting an incompatible error robot controller v11 vs driver station v1.....

Here is everything i know....

Android Studio 2.2 build on sept 15 after last sdk
Downloaded the last FTC =SDK and extract on 9/25 from github site
running team code.... it install robot controller app on phone and it is at version 2.2

Driver station was re-installed from the extracyed file on pc, current version in about are:
App version 2.2
Library verdsion is 16.08.19
Robot wifi protocol version is v11
network connection config info is name: 9819-ds group owner: 9819-rc Connected
App build time 9/8/16 7:21pm

What does the about screen look like in the RC app?

Since you installed the driver station APK from the SDK download the only think I can think is that you haven't really updated the robot controller with a new version. I'd manually uninstall the RC app just to be sure it's gone and then re-deploy if from Android Studio.

When I re-install the Robot Controller App from the phone, it updates the robot wifi protocol to v11, but every time i try to download my new code, onto the robot controller, it changes the wifi protocol to v4.

I am pretty sure I got the new FTC SDK from GitHub. Where, in the ftc master app does the code establish the robot wifi protocol version?

Whenever I try to use wifi-direct between my DS and my RC it shows an error due to v4 vs. v11.

I finally got it!

Found out the following.... so i am not 100% sure on what exactly fix the issue i was having but it may be worth the try to do it all....

1- RC phone needed some update... connected the ZTE to wifi and ran the update.
2- I manually removed all FTC apps from the RC phone.
3- Disconnect and forget every wifi network on bot RC and DS phone
4- re-establish wifi direct between the 2
5- re-installed the app from android studio.. double check that you have the latest SDK from Github
6- uninstall DS and re-install from SDK....

My issue was actually IT not having installed the new SDK. I thought they had, but we must have had a miscommunication on that one.

Several have suggested using the "Pair with Controller" activity of the Driver app to get the connection between the Driver phone and the Controller phone. What happens when you try that?

How to reach the activity: Driver app --> Settings --> Connect to Controller --> choose your controller 9819-rc.
