Rope and Hook

A: Rope and team-built hooks are legal parts but it is impossible for the GDC to rule on a specific robot function without seeing how the parts are used. The Hardware Inspectors will look to see that the parts are used in a safe manner and that there is no possibility of the rope or hook releasing accidentally. They will also evaluate the mechnism to determine if it poses an entanglement risk during use. And remember that even if the mechanism passes Inspection, the Referee can still penalize the team if the rope or hook entangles another robot during the match.

A: The GDC cannot answer this question without knowing more about the steel roller. Please provide a specific part number or link to a catalog. Note that the Players Helping Players forum is not considered an official answer.
